liveSTRONG

Well, for starters I have had a very busy week. Saturday morning, I had to go to a Baby Faire for work. The turnout was okay. I ended up giving tours (which I totally winged since I was never taught how. I must have done a pretty good job though because out of the two tours I gave, one signed up (they have a two year old and a five year old) and they already started. The mom keeps coming to my room asking me questions (like where her kids are and where their stuff is). The other was an expecting mother who has signed up for when her maternity leave ends.

Then, in the afternoon, I babysat for a boy who is in my room and his older sister while their parents went to a Brewers game. It was fun, and we watched the game because their parents were right behing home plate, along with other family members. Both kids were well behaved, and they didn't give me any trouble at bed time.

I then spoke with my boss about the assistant director position. She basically said that they either hire from the outside or hire within, and when they hire within, they usually don't do it so quickly. She wanted me to become part of a succession plan instead where I would learn how to do all of the financial stuff and reach other goals while keeping the position that I have now. I more than exceeded the qualifications they were looking for in a person from the outside, and I don't know why I just couldn't learn that stuff with on the job training. Oh well, I got a call yesturday from another company wanting to do a phone interview with me about an assistant director position that I applied to like a month ago. I have a phone interview on Tuesday. My co-worker also got a call a few minutes later from the same company regarding a teaching position. I hope it works out for both of us. I also got a call for another company later that day regarding a teaching position. I know at the very least the other company that called me back pays their teachers more than what I'm making now. So, woohoo!

I also read my ex's myspace account, and he recently found out that he has testicular cancer. He had surgery two days after he found out that his suspected abnormalty was in fact cancer. He had a CT scan, and they found no cancer cells, but are going to give him 6 weeks of radiation therepy just in case. He has a 99% survival rate. He also seems to be taking the news quite well despite nhever have anythnig happen to him before (never a broken bone or anything).

It make me think about how lucky I am. I mean I had to have my gallbladder out at 13, and my brother was killed when I was 16, but other than that, not too many unexpected things have happened in my life.

liveStrong, live each day to the fullest, and be thankful for everything and everyone in your life. :)
