Emotional Rollercoaster!
The last two weeks have been VERY emotional. I went from feeling low to feeling great, and anm now back down to really feeling lowsy. No, I'm not bi-polar. A lot of stuff happened.
My trusty old used Ford Escort (that I've had since 1999)finally officially died on Scott a week ago Monday while he was on his lunch break. The transmission is gone. Scott's mom got the car towed. Since the Escort had 160,000 miles on it, it wasn't worth the amount of the new transmission it needed. So, while driving the rental, I did a lot of online searching last week for a different car at a good price. I simply wanted a dependable car that would get good gas milege. Scott was pretty apathetic about it all, and didn't help me look at all.
I had been driving a 2006 Chevy Cobalt all week as a rental. I liked the way it drove. Scott's mom and I got to talking about different cars, and she mentioned that she was able to get several different kinds of discounts through Chevrolet. I mentioned that I liked the Cobalt. She said that she did see some ads on them, and then got a price quote. She got the price quote and started contacting dealers. She got ahold of one who was willing to negotiate, and set up an appointment for Saturday. The two of us went, while Scott stayed at his Mom's house to watch the NFL draft(Guess that was more important). We discussed a lot of price options. Scott's mom really knows her stuff when it comes to cars and deals! The sales guy wasn't pushy at all like most. I think it was because it was the last day of the month. After all that was done, we went home without a car because I still needed to get insurance. On Monday, Scott's mom and I called around to places we know. My old insurance company wouldn't sell to me because the dealership listed my car as being sold on the 28th and not the 1st, and they thought I had been driving around without insuarance. Well, I was upset and did my best to explain that I didn't have the car in my possession. They wouldn't hear it, so I now have insuarance through the company Scott and his family go through. I didn't get to drive my car off the lot (Scott did) because I had to work late. :( I do however LOVE my new car! It's a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS Coupe. The best part is the color (which took me a little bit to choose). It is called majestic amethyst metallic! It is so cool. It can look grey, silver, or light purple depending on the light! Everyone that is seen it likes that about it!
Then, today things went back down again. Yesturday a mom of a child was dropping her child off with my co-teacher and me while we were transitioning from a large room used for play into our classroom. With her, we had 8 children. One of the other toddler teachers left the other two toddler classroom's doors open (which is only an invitation to toddlers). I was carrying a child who also wasn't on our roster, and two children took off into each of the two toddler rooms. I did a quick count of the children walking down the hall, and then dashed in to get one of the stray children who went into one of the other rooms while my co-teacher got the other wonderer. Meanwhile, the child who was just dropped off turned a corner and went looking for her mom and sister. After trying to gather the kids from going in every direction, we went back to the room. My co-teacher went to change a poopy diaper while I was trying to get kids not to jump on eachother. Keep in mind all this happened in a matter of seconds! She had gone into her sister's pre-school room. The consequences were that we were both written up. My co-teacher was spoken to first, and she was placed on administrative leave for at least 3 days. The directors then told the rest of the staff. Of course everyone was asking me to spill the beans, but all they told me was that it was the straw that broke the camel's back, and it was due to a nuimber of things. I feel bad because normally we DO count all the children everytime we go somewhere. She has also been working there for 8 years! It took a bit to sink in that it wasn't my fault. Unfortunately, I don't think she will be back. She took all of her stuff! The rest of the staff do not feel good job security at the moment. I agree.
