Deep Thoughts

I had a great weekend! It was good not to think about how mean some of my co-workers are. I have come to the conclusion that one of the girls turned my co-teacher against me because she doesn't have any friends at work and wants someone on her side. I am just going to ignore their immature behavior. I see how they role their eyes at one another when myself or another lady ask them questions regarding the children. That's immature, and eventually it will get old for them too.

Scott and I also talked last night. I received a few calls interested in me being an assistant director. I think that is the only way I'm going to be able to move up. From what I hear, there aren't many opportunities at Kohls for advancement. They basically decide who they are going to promote before the application process even begins. There seems to be favortism there too. I know they are going to be opening a whole new center next summer, and that there will be advancement opportunities there, but I'm not a butt kisser, so my chances may be slim. Although being an assistant director elsewhere won't make me better off financially right away, I will be closer to my goal professionally.

Corporate People

I really like my new job and everything, but it seems as if some people are just out to get one another or have a negative attitude in general. One of the girls I'm working with has been very sarcastic to me the past few days. Maybe she doesn't like meI don't know what I did to her, but I hope it passes. Also, some of the moms are stuck up. I had a mom (who no one can ever seem to get ahold of) tell me that I shouldn't talk to her about her daughter in person, and that I should talk to her over the phone, instead of pulling her aside in the morning. There was another parent mad at us this week because we sent her daughter home for being sick when she has never been sent home before. I just hope things start getting better. A different co-worker of mine said she experienced a lot of the same feelings when she first started(I didn't mention the other co-worker issues) and she said that people treated her as if she knew nothing and didn't know what she was talking about. She said it passed. Hopefully, the same will be true for me. I can only think to myself that people who treat others the way I'm being treated right now are like schoolyard bullies who have their own under lying insecurities.

New Job!

Well, I have a new job working at Kohl's corporate office. I have been there exactly one month today. The pay is great, and I love the store discount and benefits too! Scott and I are trying to get people to come with us to Great America on Kohl's family and friends day on October 1st! They close the park to the public, ticket prices are half off, and there's free parking! Who can beat that? The administration is very nice and wells organized. Some of the parents and people I work with are stuck up though.

Scott was in his friend's wedding a few weeks ago. It went well, although Scott hopes he doesn't have to stand up in another wedding anytime soon.
